God Of War III Release Date: March 2010

Release Date: March 2010
Exclusively on: PlayStation 3
ESRB: M+
Genre: Action
Publisher: Sony Computer Entertainment

God of War III is expected to feature gameplay similar to that of previous installments. Only three weapons have been confirmed so far: his bow, the trademark Blades of Athena, and the Cestus, a pair of fist gauntlets shaped like lion heads. This new weapon appears to have the ability to smash through solid objects such as rocks as well as a similar ability as the Blades of Athena. The Golden Fleece appears on Kratos' arm in gameplay trailers and the demo, and the Icarus' wings, showing that he keeps both from his adventure in God of War II.

In a recent screenshot, and in the demo, Kratos is seen tearing off the head of the God Helios. In the game his head can be used in a similar fashion to those of Medusa and Euryale from previous games. Although where their powers revolved around stone, Helios's stems from light. Its functions include distracting undead soldiers, and as a lantern in dark areas.

Developers have stated that more weapons will be announced and will be more user-friendly than the sub-weapons from previous titles. Combos from previous titles will also make a return as well as new combos. The number of enemies onscreen has been increased to 50 as opposed to the maximum of 15 in previous God of War installments.

Game director Stig Asmussen claimed that the hardware capabilities of the PlayStation 3 would allow more flexibility in creating the characters of God of War III and to allow for further interaction with the environment. On March 26, 2009 a gameplay trailer was released at the Game Developers Conference. The trailer showed Kratos fighting a group of soldiers briefly and taking control of a cyclops to quickly dispatch the enemies, and ultimately killing the cyclops after the soldiers die.Wiki

AVATAR the movie

Out Since December 18th:
Avatar is a 2009 3-D science fiction film written and directed by James Cameron, starring Sam Worthington, Zoë Saldaña, Sigourney Weaver and Stephen Lang. The film focuses on an epic conflict on Pandora, an inhabited Earth-sized moon of Polyphemus, one of three fictional gas giants orbiting Alpha Centauri A. On Pandora, human colonists and the sentient humanoid indigenous inhabitants of Pandora, the Na'vi, engage in a war over the planet's resources and the latter's continued existence. The film's title refers to the remotely controlled, genetically engineered human-Na'vi bodies used by the film's human characters to interact with the natives.

Avatar had been in development since 1994 by Cameron, who wrote a 114-page scriptment for the film. Filming was supposed to take place after the completion of Titanic, and the film would have been released in 1999, but according to Cameron, "technology needed to catch up" with his vision of the film. In early 2006, Cameron developed the script, the language, and the culture of Pandora.

The film was released in traditional 2D and 3D formats, along with an IMAX 3D release in selected theaters. The film is estimated to have cost over $300 million to produce, and another estimated $200 million for the distribution and other costs, thus totaling to about half a billion dollars. Avatar is being touted as a breakthrough in terms of filmmaking technology, for its development of 3D viewing and stereoscopic filmmaking with cameras that were specially designed for the film's production. The film was originally set for release on May 22, 2009, but was pushed back to allow more post-production time. It premiered in London on December 10, 2009 and was released in the United Kingdom on December 17, 2009, one day prior to its theatrical release in the United States. Opening to critical acclaim, it earned an estimated $27 million on its opening day and an estimated $73 million after three days. Worldwide, the film earned $232,180,000 in its opening weekend, the seventh largest opening-weekend gross of all time.

2012 The Movie

2012 is a 2009 disaster film directed by Roland Emmerich. The film stars John Cusack, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Amanda Peet, Oliver Platt, Danny Glover, Thandie Newton and Woody Harrelson. It was distributed by Columbia Pictures. Filming began in August 2008 in Vancouver.

The film briefly references Mayanism, the Mesoamerican Long Count calendar, and the 2012 phenomenon in its portrayal of cataclysmic events unfolding in the year 2012. Because of solar flare bombardment the Earth's core begins heating up at an unprecedented rate, eventually causing crustal displacement. This results in an onslaught of Doomsday event scenarios plunging the world into chaos, ranging from California falling into the Pacific Ocean, the eruption of the Yellowstone National Park caldera, massive earthquakes, and Megatsunami impacts along every coast line on the Earth. The film centers around an ensemble cast of characters as they narrowly escape multiple catastrophes in an effort to reach ships in the Himalayas, along with scientists and governments of the world who are attempting to save as many lives as they can before the disasters ensue.

The film received mixed to negative reviews, and ran a much criticized viral marketing campaign in the form of the fictional organization Institute for Human Continuity; this entailed a fictitious book written by Jackson Curtis entitled Farewell Atlantis, and streaming media, blog updates and radio broadcasts from the apocalyptic zealot Charlie Frost at his website entitled This Is The End.

Prince of Persia The Movie

The film stars Jake Gyllenhaal as Prince Dastan, Gemma Arterton as Tamina, Ben Kingsley as Nizam, and Alfred Molina as Sheik Amar. Currently, it is the fourth film under the Walt Disney Pictures banner to receive a PG-13 rating by the MPAA (the first three being the Pirates of the Caribbean series). Despite the film being based on The Sands of Time, elements from Warrior Within and The Two Thrones are present.

Left 4 dead 2

Left 4 Dead 2 is a cooperative first-person shooter game. It is the sequel to Valve Corporation's award-winning Left 4 Dead. The game launched on November 17, 2009, for Microsoft Windows and Xbox 360 in the United States and November 20 in Europe.[2] It builds upon the cooperatively focused gameplay of the original and uses Valve's proprietary Source engine, the same game engine used in Left 4 Dead. The game made its world premiere at E3 2009 with a trailer during the Microsoft press event.[3]

Like the original, Left 4 Dead 2 is set during the aftermath of an apocalyptic pandemic, and focuses on four survivors fighting against hordes of the infected. The survivors must fight their way through levels, interspersed with safe houses that act as checkpoints, with the goal of reaching a rescue vehicle at the campaign's finale. The gameplay is procedurally altered by an artificial intelligence engine dubbed the "Director" that monitors the players' performance and alters the scenario to provide a dynamic challenge for the players as they progress. Several new features have been introduced, such as new types of infected, melee weapons, and a story-arc that connects each of the game's five campaigns together.

Dragon Age Origins

Dragon Age: Origins (formerly Dragon Age) is an award-winning computer role-playing game developed by BioWare's Edmonton studio and described by them as an "epic tale of violence, lust, and betrayal." The game was released for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in November 2009, and is scheduled to be released for Mac OS X on December 21, 2009. Dragon Age: Origins uses a new game engine named Eclipse, for which a toolset for creation of fan-made content is available to owners of the PC version. The game is single-player only and does not provide LAN support. BioWare co-CEO Ray Muzyka described Dragon Age: Origins as a "spiritual successor" to the Baldur's Gate series, though it is not based on Dungeons & Dragons. The game incorporates "origins" for each race and some classes. For example, a Dwarf Noble begins the game as part of the royal family in one of the dwarven cities, whereas the Dwarf Commoner origin story begins on the streets of the city.

Assassin's Creed II

Assassin's Creed II is an action-adventure video game developed by Ubisoft Montreal and published by Ubisoft. It was released on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in November 2009, with a PC version scheduled for release in March 2010. As in Assassin's Creed, the story revolves around the "Animus", a machine which makes it possible for the player to view the genetic memories of protagonist Desmond Miles' ancestors, a long line of assassins. In Assassin's Creed II, the machine is used to view the memories of a young nobleman-turned-assassin named Ezio Auditore da Firenze in the late 15th and early 16th century in Italy, during the Renaissance. The game thus incorporates numerous real-life historic events, places, and people throughout Italian Renaissance history, all of which play a key part in the plot and in Ezio's journey to uncover a hidden conspiracy after the murder of his family.
